Am 28. Juni 2013 treten Giuseppe Verdi und Richard Wagner in einem musikalischen Wettstreit in der Münchner
Innenstadt gegeneinander an. Zwei riesenhafte Puppen verkörpern die Komponisten, die unterstützt werden
durch eine Armada von Blaskapellen, Musikern des Bayerischen Staatsorchesters und natürlich den
Münchnerinnen und Münchnern.
Erdacht wurde das Spektakel von der katalanischen Theatergruppe La Fura dels Baus und dem Münchner
Komponisten Moritz Eggert.
Die Zuschaer müssen sich entscheiden: Hirn oder Herz? Richard Wagner oder Guiseppe Verdi?
Zwei musikalische Paraden starten von unterschiedlichen Plätzen zum Ort des Wettstreits auf dem
Max-Joseph-Platz vor der Bayerischen Staatsoper.

On the 28th of June 2013 Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner compete against each other in a musical contest
in Munich’s city centre. Two immense dolls embody the composers, aided by an armada of brass bands,
the musicians of the Bavarian State Orchestra and of course the people of Munich.
The concept of this spectacle was conceived by the Catalan theatre group La Fura dels Baus and the Munich
based composer Moritz Eggert.
The spectators have to decide: Brain or Heart? Richard Wagner or Giuseppe Verdi? Two musical parades
start from different places in the city to the location of the contest on the Max-Joseph-Platz in front of
the Bavarian State Opera.
